The EU and its flag represents all member countries in trade talks. That is operational! [5],[6],[7] The EU flag appears on my driving license that is operational! My voting papers for EU parliament election include the EU flag, that is operational! The flag must be included. Nobody asks removing the national flags from the infobox. The EU is the defacto second nation to its members. Lear 21 16:29, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Driving Empire SCRIPT 18 08
Cal Quintanilla goes inside the McDonald's empire and show you how McDonald's went from a single drive-through to become the world's largest fast food restaurant chain serving around 68 million customers daily in 119 countries.
On January 17, 2019, it was reported two of the new leads would be a 13 year old boy and a 12 year old girl. The boy is "passionate about fantasy and conspiracy theories," approaches every situation with "unbridled excitement for the unknown" and will "narrate life in real time, adding "descriptive color" to the people he meets." The girl is an "insanely smart kid," has a hard time with "interpreting and expressing emotions and speaks with a flat delivery that make her observations humorous", wants to connect with others, struggles with interpreting how her family and friends feel, has difficulty sharing her own feelings, and her science acumen is said to prove invaluable. The plot centers on a family who moves back home to a small town where they begin to learn more about who they are and the secrets of the town itself.[24]
On February 18, 2019, Jason Reitman revealed he wrote the script in secret with Gil Kenan over 2018 while they finished production of "The Front Runner" then turned it in in December 2018. Reitman was prepared to take time off from filmmaking in 2019 to do rewrites of it. However, Sony approved the first draft and greenlit the movie. He emphasized he wants to make a movie "for his fellow Ghostbusters fans" and is "a 100% love letter" to them.[31][32]
On March 22, 2019, it was reported that a Cadillac collector sold his 1959 Futura to Sony for filming. He posted a picture of dropping the car off, next to an Ecto-1a and explained it will be redone for close up scenes, the 1961 will be cut in half for interior shots, and his 1959 will be a driving/stunt car.[39]
On May 17, 2019, during a Q&A, Dan Aykroyd was asked if the movie dealt with the original characters' children or grandchildren. Aykroyd quickly answered, "Yeah, that's right. That's right."[47][48] Aykroyd also mentioned a new draft of the script was almost done.[49]
On June 8, 2019, it was confirmed that Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver have all read the current script.[52][53] Jason Reitman commented he wants to "recreate the feeling of '80s movies" that could be both scary and funny.[54] It was revealed the family in the story doesn't know about their connection to the Ghostbusters and the story takes place in a new location. Reitman also told an anecdote about the genesis of the story. The character, reported in the past as a 12 year old girl, popped into his head wearing a Proton Pack and the story formed in his head for many years, later into a family. He then reached out to Gil Kenan and they started writing the movie.[55][56] Ivan and Jason Reitman showed audiences newly unearthed dailies from the first movie that is somehow also part of the work being done on the new movie.[57]
On July 30, 2019, Paul Rudd was spotted at W.G. Murdoch School. Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, and Bill Murray were sighted, too.[122][123] A production schedule for Crossfield was later posted. On July 26, filming was done inside the Wills Place Cafe looking out to the street then inside the Howes Bros Hardware Store. On July 29 and 30, filming was done at the W.G. Murdoch School. On July 30, filming moved to the Enjoy Garden Chinese Restaurant. On July 31, filming was done at Murdoch and Enjoy again. Filming is scheduled for Murdoch School again on August 1 then interior filming at 1112 Railway Street on August 2, 6, and 7. Filming at Crossfield Automotive was also scheduled for August 7. There was also exterior filming where the street and gravel parking lots off of Railway Street are in the background which involves a character driving a vehicle down Railway.[124][125]
On August 2, 2019, more info on filming in Fort Macleod was revealed. Filming is tentatively set for August 8 to August 18. The location appealed to the filmmakers for its timelessness, especially the main street. Macleod will represent "a nondescript town in Oklahoma." None of the stars are scheduled to work there. The scene filmed will basically be a driving scene, and it will have stunt people and stunt drivers. The scene will only be in the film for a few minute. The production will use about 100 to 120 crew. Filming will shut down portions of 2 Avenue and 24 Street.[129] Dan Aykroyd was seen on a Calgary set.[130] A Stay Puft Marshmallows ad was sighted at a set.[131]
On August 10, 2019, an Ecto-1 driving scene at the Fort Macleod shoot was posted and it involved an explosion and crash.[141] A Proton Pack was in the backseat of Ecto-1, slime was put on a bench and stop sign, and it's rumored Sigourney Weaver will be arriving on the set in the coming week.[142] Two more photos and a video was posted from the Ecto-1 filming which appeared to involve Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard in flightsuits.[143]
On August 23, 2019, the farmland set was found "15 minutes south of Calgary" and more photos were posted.[157][158] While driving through Dorothy on their way to Medicine Hat, onlookers saw an Ecto-1 scene being filmed.[159] Ecto-1 was also seen driving down a highway with a drone flying above holding a camera. A retro drive-in was also found built in Beiseker.[160]
On January 3, 2020, a still of Trevor driving Ecto-1 and Phoebe on the gunner seat was posted. The article reiterated they find out their Ghostbusters connection "at the center of a great mystery that connects back to the original" and 1959 Cadillac model exactly like the original was bought to create the "Afterlife" edition.[269]
On January 23, 2020, an article about a set visit to a soundstage in Canada last September just days before Bill Murray's birthday was posted. Murray noted, "The script is good. It's got lots of emotion in it. It's got lots of family in it, with through lines that are really interesting." The article featured Bill Murray letting the journalist wear a Proton Pack prop to see how heavy it is. It was the 30-pound heavy-duty version used for close-ups. It is loaded with batteries and rumble motors to make the blasters shudder and jolt in the hands of the user. Ben Eadie was the prop master on set. Murray confirmed the narrative deals with the absence of Egon Spengler. The new story advances the message that anyone can be a Ghostbuster. Reitman notes he's making this movie for his father. It's the idea of what it would be like to find a Proton Pack in your grandparents' basement and what would that discovery reveals about who you are and what adventures you're about to go on. Callie is described as a a "tough mom."[305]
On September 23, 2020, during an interview, Ernie Hudson talked about how the movie became real after he read the script, how it's in line with what fans have been hoping for and really tying into the two movies, and filming without Harold Ramis.[324]
On November 23, 2021, an interview with Mckenna Grace was posted. She wrote her "Haunted House" single back in March and reached out to Jason Reitman to direct the music video. He then asked to include it in the end credits of Afterlife.[383] Tested posted an interview between Adam Savage and Jason Reitman at Ghost Corps, where the movie's script was written.[384] An interview with Will Files and Rob Simonsen was posted.[385]
On June 8, 2021, to start Ghostbusters Day off, the Ghostbusters social media accounts released a 40 second pre-recorded introduction video with Ivan Reitman and Bill Murray video conferencing and poking fun at Ghostbusters Day.[427] During the Twitter Space discussion, several stills and images were released on IGN's Twitter account: Celeste O'Connor's character Lucky talking to Trevor while she was working at Spinners Roller Hop,[428] Ecto-1 on the road,[429] an image of a Trap opening,[430] an image of Egon's thrower firing,[431] a gif of Logan Kim's character Podcast trying to pry open a Trap in class,[432] and Ecto-1 parked outside the Farmhouse at night.[433] During the discussion, it was revealed Logan Kim portrays Podcast and Celeste O'Connor portrays Lucky. Jason Reitman commented, "I saw a young girl in the middle of a field with a Proton Pack and I imagined a young man discovering the Ecto-1 and it not working, and then Tokyo drifting through that field." Ivan Reitman commented it was an honor and thrill for one his children to carry on a story he helped start. Finn Wolfhard talks about how he self-taped an audition in his room in Vancouver and put it together it was a Ghostbusters movie when he was asked to come to Jason Reitman's home in Los Angeles. McKenna Grace talked about working in Atlanta when she auditioned and in the scripts, their roles were just "Boy" and "Girl" but she found it in the chemistry reads and read with Logon Kim, and a Proton Pack was there. Jason Reitman clarified the movie is not set at all in New York and had to be about a family discovering who they were and them going to someplace that didn't look like the first movie. Like going into a parent or grandparent's attic or basement and finding something about them. Celeste O'Connor's character is named Lucky and she's always wanted to leave her home town then meets the new kid at the diner she works at, Trevor. She gets involved in his story and finds her courage and determination and adventure she's always been looking for. Ecto-1 certainly plays an important role in the movie. We discover the things that have changed about it in the course of the movie. Some green screen was done for the more dangerous parts of the Ecto-1 chase scene. The gunner seat came when they started thinking about what happens to the equipment. The gunner seat put ghostbusting in motion. McKenna Grace comments on getting to sit in the Ecto-1 and on the gunner seat and calls it "absolutely magical." Mr. Grooberson is a science teacher and Phoebe is a scientist herself who finds herself in small town in a summer school class filled with delinquents and Grooberson immediately takes a liking to her because he sees a like-minded person and becomes a mentor to her. McKenna Grace had her mind blown when she first saw the equipment props. Finn Wolfhard emphasizes the movie comes from a fan. There is CG but Jason Reitman was adamant about using a lot of practical effects like the props, make up, sets, and backgrounds. Lucky was skeptical at first but over the course of it, she gets pulled into the adventure. O'Connor never did a big studio film before and just did an indie movie before moving onto Afterlife so she was overwhelmed on the set. O'Connor's father was a film of the movies and showed them to the family when she was growing up. Carrie Coon plays a mom just trying to make ends meet and find resources to keep her family afloat and hasn't time for the other parts of her life. Callie shares a cynical sense of humor with Grooberson. Jason Reitman comments on watching people trying on the Proton Pack for the first time and the unique smile that happens. The Ecto Goggles can now take Polaroids. McKenna Grace remembers she cried when she tried on the Proton Pack for the first time. Finn Wolfhard remembered the camera test and she lost balance at first. Grace got strap burns because of the weight. The Proton Pack mold used was built off one of the original 1984 Proton Pack props. They tried to visualize what welds, wire changes, slips, breaks, and cracks to show the age and use of the pack over three decades. The creatures were puppeteered on the set. The cast and crew is asked if they believe in the paranormal and had their experiences. Logan Kim's character Podcast is considered the absolute believer in the movie and the heart of the movie. They talk about how Kim took one acting class, did a Fed Ex commercial, and auditioned for Afterlife with a self-tape. Kim was the most confident actor on the set. Carrie talks about hearing footsteps and doors opening at the farmhouse she grew up on. Logan Kim could barely see with the Ecto Goggles on and hit McKenna Grace's face once. He also slipped and fell on set. It was hard to position the Ecto Goggles on heads like how Dan Aykroyd could. Jason Reitman gave Kim notes on where to look in a shot but Kim paused and told him he couldn't see. Jason Reitman clarifies the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man will not return. The Mini Pufts want to watch the world burn and they enjoy it. 041b061a72
